German potato pancakes are pancakes made from grated raw potatoes, grated onions, egg, and spices. They are fried in a pan and are super crunchy. They are very popular in Germany, German-speaking countries, and neighboring countries. They are served as a snack or as a side dish.
Ingredients :
° 2lb 1⁄2 rust potatoes, or any starchy potatoes, peeled and very soft grated
° 1 very soft shredded yellow onion
° 2 large eggs
° 1 teaspoon salt
° 1⁄4 cup of flour for all purposes
° Oil for frying
Preparation :
Step 1:
After humans potatoes, using a towel, grab all the liquid from potatoes well
Place the filtered potatoes in a large bowl with grated onions, salt, eggs and flour.
Mix it well with your hands, you want it to be fairly vulgar. Add more flour if it's too sticky
Step 2:
Heat 3 tbsp oil in a frying pan
Put 1⁄3 1⁄2 a cup of mixture in the hot frying pan
Step 3:
Fry for three to five minutes on each side, until golden.
Drain briefly on paper towels
Step 4:
Serve immediately, with heat with cider and sprinkle with sugar powder, sour cream or even yogurt.
They can also be served with meat and gravy, using these as a side dish.
